Award-winning
artiste,
David
Adeleke,
popularly
known
as
Davido,
has
hinted
at
his
intention
to
leave
his
first
child,
Imade,
in
custody
of
her
mother,
Sophia
Momodu.

This
follows
a
counter
affidavit
filed
by
Momodu
who
claimed
that
Davido
is
unfit
to
have
custody
of
their
daughter.

In
court
on
Friday,
July
5,
Momodu’s
lawyers
while
responding
to
the
earlier
suit
filed
by
Davido
alleged
that
the
artiste’s
home
is
not
a
safe
environment
for
Imade
considering
the
tragic
death
of
his
son,
Ifeanyi
in
2022.

This
formed
part
of
her
evidences
to
deny
Davido
custody
of
their
daughter,
Imade.

The
document,
which
is
now
circulating
on
social
media,
read
in
part,
“The
applicant
cannot
take
proper
care
of
our
daughter
because
he
lives
a
controversial
lifestyle
(negative
media
attention)
that
will
expose
our
daughter
to
more
negative
trauma
at
her
tender
age.

“The
fact
that
the
applicant
lost
his
son
in
his
house
in
rather
unfortunate
and
questionable
circumstances
shows
that
our
daughter
cannot
be
placed
in
the
custody
of
the
applicant.”

Responding
to
Momodu’s
assertions
in
a
post
on
X,
Davido
stated
that
the
death
of
his
son
has
continued
to
haunt
him
for
years.

He
expressed
his
bitterness
at
Momodu
for
bringing
up
his
son’s
tragic
death
in
the
custody
case
as
it
reminds
him
of
the
unfortunate
tragedy.

“Your
constantly
bringing
up
the
death
of
my
child
at
any
point
u
can
to
just
remind
us
of
this
tragedy
that
haunts
us
everyday
of
our
lives,”
he
wrote
on

on
Friday,
July
5.

He
further
expressed
his
readiness
to
let
go
of
seeking
custody
of
Imade,
stating
that
she
won’t
be
a
child
forever
and
that
she
will
grow
to
see
how
he
fought
for
her.

“Imade
will
grow
up
to
see
I
fought
for
her…
as
for
now
u
can
have
her…
P.S
she
won’t
be
a
child
forever..
enjoy,
Imade
Aurora
Adeleke!
Your
father
loves
you,”
Davido
tweeted.

He
continued:
“All
I
asked
for
was
‘joint
custody’
but
cus
it’s
Davido
y’all
wanna
act
like
y’all
can’t
read!
SMH
I’m
off
this

y’all
be
blessed
and
I
pray
this
never
happens
to
you.”
