Rodney
Nkrumah
Boateng,
Press
Secretary
to
Dr
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh
(NAPO),
has
vigorously
defended
his
boss’
character
after
he
came
under
fire
for
his
flippant
response
to
a
question
about
the
‘Dumsor’
timetable.
NAPO
faced
intense
backlash
several
months
ago
when
he
dismissively
told
journalists
that
people
demanding
a
load-shedding
timetable
during
the
peak
of
the
power
outages
to
design
their
own.
During
an
interview
with
Bernard
Avle
on
The
Point
of
View
on
Channel
One
TV,
Rodney
Nkrumah
Boateng
argued
that
NAPO’s
worth
and
capabilities
as
a
potential
running
mate
for
Dr
Bawumia
cannot
be
judged
based
on
a
solitary
media
interview,
emphasising
that
his
qualifications
and
strengths
extend
far
beyond
that
one
interaction.
He
conceded
that
no
one
enjoys
living
without
electricity
but
assured
that
the
necessary
steps
have
been
taken
to
address
the
issue
of
‘Dumsor’
and
ensure
a
stable
power
supply.
Mr
Nkrumah
Boateng
emphasised
that
the
present
power
outages
are
far
less
severe
and
less
frequent
than
those
that
occurred
during
the
Mahama
era,
highlighting
the
progress
made
in
addressing
the
issue.
“Clearly,
what
pertained
recently
cannot
by
any
stretch
of
the
imagination
be
compared
to
what
happened
in
2014
or
2015
there
about.
But
again.
The
important
thing
is,
it
is
what
it
is,
and
what
is
being
done
about
it
and
it
is
what
the
timelines
are
and
how
to
ensure
that
power
is
brought
back.
“Nobody
enjoys
power
cuts,
what
happened
happened,
and
those
discussions
have
been
had.
And
even
before
those
discussions,
people
have
said
whatever
they
have
to
say.
“You
cannot
define
him
by
just
one
single
interview
and
one
sentence
that
he
said,
that
is
blatantly
pretty
unfair…the
important
thing
is
that,
well,
fortunately
now
we
are
way
past
all
that,
and
we’re
looking
forward
to
what
lies
ahead,
and
then
we
take
it
from
there,”
he
maintained.
