IGP assures of thorough probe into death of 24-year-old at Hotel in Takoradi

The
Inspector
General
of
Police,
Dr.
George
Akufo
Damapare
has
assured
the
family
of
24-year-old
Loise
Abena
Koranteng,
who
was
found
dead
in
a
pool
at
the
CrisLord
Palace
Hotel
in
Takoradi
an
expedited
investigation
into
the
matter.

Loise
Abena
Koranteng
reportedly
checked
into
the
CrisLord
Palace
Hotel
on
June
7,
2024,
with
her
boss
and
another
company
staff
member
but
was
found
dead
in
the
hotel’s
pool
the
following
morning.

Reports
indicate
that
the
hotel’s
CCTV
cameras
were
not
functioning
during
the
week
of
the
incident.
The
Western
Regional
Director
of
the
Ghana
Tourism
Authority,
Henry
Yeleduor
has
confirmed
that
his
office
is
collaborating
with
the
police
to
investigate
the
unexplained
matter.

The
Ghana
Police
Service,
in
a
statement
on
Thursday,
July
11
explained
that
the
IGP,
Dampare
on
Wednesday,
July
10
called
on
the
family
to
reassure
them
of
a
thorough
probe
into
the
matter.

According
to
them,
an
autopsy
report,
from
a
pathologist
at
the
Korle-Bu
Teaching
Hospital
revealed
the
cause
of
death
as
asphyxia,
severe
pulmonary
edema,
and
drowning
in
a
pool.

The
police
have
assured
the
family
of
updating
them
on
any
developments
in
the
case
as
they
continue
to
investigate
the
matter.
