The
Member
of
Parliament
for
North
Tongu,
Samuel
Okudzeto
Ablakwa,
has
joined
calls
for
the
dissolution
of
the
board
of
the
Social
Security
and
National
Insurance
Trust
(SSNIT)
after
the
termination
of
the
sale
of
60
percent
of
its
shares
in
four
hotels
to
Rock
City
Hotel,
owned
by
Agriculture
Minister
Bryan
Acheampong.
Samuel
Okudzato
Ablakwa
who
first
broke
the
news
about
the
sale
with
support
from
Organized
Labour
and
other
unions,
forced
the
termination
of
the
sale.
Ablakwa
told
Citi
News
that
the
SSNIT
board
should
not
be
allowed
to
stay
in
office
after
supervising
the
controversial
transaction.
He
said
it
was
clear
from
the
onset
that
the
transaction
was
not
beneficial
to
Ghana
but
the
SSNIT
board
disregarded
all
the
signs
and
due
process
and
proceeded
with
it.
“Those
who
have
perpetrated
this
state
capture
must
pay
a
price.
The
SSNIT
board
has
to
be
dissolved.
The
SSNIT
board
cannot
tell
us
that
they
didn’t
receive
copies
of
the
transaction
adviser’s
report.
The
transaction
adviser
told
them
that
this
was
a
bad
deal.
“There
is
no
bank
guarantee.
There
is
no
value
for
money.
There
is
no
proof
of
funds.
And
yet,
they
went
ahead,
they
were
holding
press
conferences,
writing
epistles,
defying
Organised
Labour,
defying
me,
defending
this
stinky
transaction
and
so
they
must
pay
a
price.”
