Democracy
Hub
has
announced
its
intention
to
hold
a
three-day
demonstration
from
September
21-23
at
the
Revolutionary
Square,
across
Liberation
Road,
opposite
the
Jubilee
House.
In
a
statement,
Democracy
Hub
confirmed
that
it
has
formally
notified
the
Inspector
General
of
Police,
Dr.
George
Akuffo
Dampare,
in
accordance
with
the
Public
Order
Act.
The
protest,
organised
by
the
group,
will
begin
at
6:00
am.
The
demonstration
aims
to
address
critical
issues
affecting
the
country,
including
socio-economic
injustice,
unemployment,
rising
poverty,
state
capture,
nepotism,
corruption,
and
the
need
for
judicial
independence
“Democracy
Hub,
the
Convenor
of
the
#FixTheCountry
movement
and
#OccupyJulorbiHouse
protests,
wishes
to
notify
the
public
and
media
outlets
of
our
upcoming
peaceful
protest
under
the
theme
“A
New
Constitution
for
a
New
Generation”.
“The
protest
will
begin
at
6:00
AM
on
21st
September
and
conclude
at
11:59
PM
on
23rd
September
2024;
and
is
scheduled
to
take
place
at
the
Revolutionary
Square
across
Liberation
Road,
opposite
the
Jubilee
House.

Hub

to

several

plaguing
Ghanaian
society,
with
a
particular
focus
on
socio-economic
injustice,
lack
of
jobs,
rising
poverty,
state
capture,
nepotism,
corruption,
and
the
need
for
judicial
independence.”
The
group
emphasised
its
commitment
to
a
peaceful
and
orderly
demonstration.
In
September
2023,
Democracy
Hub
organised
a
similar
protest,
dubbed
#OccupyJulorbiHouse,
which
resulted
in
the
arrest
of
some
members
by
the
police.
