Kylian
Mbappe
has
revealed
that
his
long-time
dream
since
infancy
was
to
play
for
Real
Madrid,
a
goal
that
has
finally
been
fulfilled
following
his
unveiling
on
Tuesday
morning.

After
undergoing
his
medicals,
the
France
captain
was
unveiled
to
a
packed
Santiago
Bernabeu
having
signed
a
five-year
contract.

“I
spent
endless
nights
dreaming
about
one
day
playing
for
Real
Madrid
and
today
I
am
one
happy
guy,”
said
Mbappe
in
front
of
the
80,000
fans.

“My
family
are
so
happy
here,
I
can
see
my
mum
crying.

“It’s
an
incredible
day
for
me,
I’ve
dreamt
of
this
day
since
I
was
a
kid
and
this
day
means
a
lot
to
me.”

After
sealing
the
move,
the
club
had
to
wait
until
the
end
of
the
Euro
2024
to
unveil
the
forward
as
he
led
Les
Bleus
to
the
semi-finals
of
the
competition.
Interestingly,
France
were
knocked
out
by
the
eventual
winners
Spain.

Fiorentino
Perez,
the
club’s
president
said,
“The
love
that
you
[Mbappe]
felt
for
Real
Madrid,
and
you
identifying
with
this
club
since
your
childhood,
made
it
possible
for
you
to
be
here
and
to
overcome
those
obstacles
on
the
way
to
your
dream.”

For
Perez,
Mbappe’s
arrival
had
been
anticipated
for
a
long
time
and
came
three
years
after
Real
Madrid’s
unsuccessful
£137
million
bid
for
the
World
Cup
winner.

In
2023,
PSG
accepted
a
world-record
bid
of
£259
million
from
Saudi
Arabian
side
Al-Hilal,
but
Mbappe
turned
down
the
move,
making
it
clear
he
wanted
to
join
Real
Madrid.

Mbappe
departed
PSG
with
an
impressive
record
of
256
goals
in
308
appearances.
