At
the
Third
Meeting
of
the
Third
Session
of
the
Eighth
Parliament,
the
House
approved
by
resolution,
new
Standing
Orders.

The
revised
Standing
Orders
reconstituted
the
committees
of
the
House
by
revising
the
membership
and
mandate
of
some
Committees,
established
new
committees
and
re-designated
some
of
the
committees
established
under
the
old
Standing
Orders.

In
compliance
with
the
Constitution
and
to
ensure
the
smooth
functioning
of
Parliament,
the
Committee
met
and
composed
the
committees
of
the
House
in
accordance
with
the
provisions
of
the
new
Standing
Orders
of
the
House.

The
Committee,
in
composing
the
committees,
was
guided
by
article
103
(4)
of
the
1992
Constitution
which
provides
that
every
Member
of
Parliament
shall
be
a
member
of
at
least
one
of
the
standing
committees.
