Afua
Asantewaa,
a
Guinness
World
Record
(GWR)
trialist,
has
captured
the
attention
of
social
media
users
after
a
video
of
her
dozing
off
mid-performance
during
her
second
attempt
at
setting
a
new
singing
record
went
viral.
The
ambitious
GWR
trial,
held
at
the
Heroes
Park
Annex
in
Kumasi,
aimed
to
clock
the
highest
number
of
hours
spent
singing.
Afua
Asantewaa
who
was
dressed
in
a
vibrant
African-print
outfit
was
seen
standing
behind
the
microphone
while
performing
reggae-dancehall
artist
Samini’s
hit
song
“My
Own.”
However,
the
physical
toll
of
the
demanding
attempt
became
evident
as
Afua
closed
her
eyes
while
singing,
struggling
to
keep
up
with
the
song’s
lyrics.
Despite
her
visible
fatigue,
the
supportive
Kumasi
crowd
rallied
behind
her,
singing
along
enthusiastically
and
cheering
her
on
with
words
of
encouragement.
This
matter
paa
dier
I
won’t
say
some
because
it’s
Christmas
?Won’t
Afua
Asantewaa
give
up
????
