water
in
Ghana
has
been
reportedly
shut
down,
Gh

The
news
was
made
known
in
a
communique
shared
by
the
body
that
Gh
Page
has
sighted.

The
body
claims
at
this
juncture,
they
have
no
option,
but
to
ensure
a
shutdown.

They
noted
in
the
communique
that,
they
are
shutting
down
because
of
Galamsey,
which
they
are
finding
extremely
difficult
to
stop.

According
to
them,
“We
are
sorry
to
announce
that
Bonsa
Headworks
that
produced
75
%
of
portable
water
to
Tarkwa
Township
and
some
environ
have
been
shut
down
due
to
massive
Galamsey”.

They
claim
the
massive
Galamsey
makes
it
difficult
for
them
to
abstract
the
water
for
treatment.

The
communique
concludes
that
“the
river
is
still
being
monitored
for
acceptable
parameters
to
enable
us
to
restart
production,
and
until
then,
the
plant
remains
closed”.
