President
Nana
Addo
Dankwa
Akufo-Addo
has
criticised
former
President
John
Dramani
Mahama
for
stating
that
he
indicated
the
free
senior
high
school.
Mr
Akufo-Addo
recounted
that
it
was
Nr
Mahama
who
indicated
that
if
he
had
one
billion
Cedis
he
would
rather
invest
in
other
projects,
not
free
SHS.
President
Akufo-Addo
expressed
surprise
that
Mr
Mahama
says
he
brought
the
policy.
“Recently
you
heard
[John
Mahama]
saying
he
brought
Free
SHS,
this
is
shocking
because
he
was
the
one
who
said
he
had
two
billion
he
would
invest
in
another
project,
not
free
SHS,”
President
Akufo-Addo
He
should
rather
commend
me
for
the
initiative
to
implement
the
policy,”
Mr
Akufo-Addo
added.
His
comments
come
at
a
time
when
former
President
John
Dramani
Mahama
said
that
he
started
Free
SHS
in
the
country.
At
a
media
engagement
on
Sunday,
July
7,
John
Dramani
Mahama
refuted
allegations
that
he
is
against
Free
SHS.
He
argued
that
as
someone
who
started
Free
SHS
with
the
implementation
of
progressive
Free
SHS,
he
is
for
any
policy
that
improves
education
in
Ghana.
“I
support
any
bill
that
will
improve
our
education—to
make
it
sustainable,
to
afford
quality
education
for
our
children.
So
yes,
any
bill
that
would
achieve
this
is
something
that
I
will
support,”
John
Dramani
Mahama
said.
