Veteran
Ghanaian
actor
and
staunch
New
Patriotic
Party
(NPP)
supporter,
Agya
Koo,
has
reacted
to
the
outcome
of
Ghana’s
just-ended
general
elections.
Yesterday,
the
Electoral
Commission
officially
declared
John
Dramani
Mahama,
leader
of
the
National
Democratic
Congress
(NDC),
as
the
president-elect,
48
hours
after
the
polls.
Before
the
declaration,
Mahama
had
claimed
victory
after
Dr
Mahamudu
Bawumia,
conceded
defeat
just
16
hours
after
voting.
In
response
to
the
announcement,
Agya
Koo
took
to
social
media
to
share
his
reflections
and
accompanied
his
post
with
an
image
of
himself
holding
the
Ghanaian
flag.
“We
give
thanks
to
God
for
a
peaceful
and
successful
election
in
our
beloved
Ghana.
May
His
divine
guidance
lead
our
nation
to
greater
heights.
Let’s
keep
Ghana
in
our
prayers!”
the
actor
wrote.

Message
Agya
Koo’s
call
for
unity
and
prayer
was
met
with
mixed
reactions
online.
While
some
supporters
appreciated
his
conciliatory
tone,
others
used
the
opportunity
to
mock
his
vocal
support
for
the
NPP’s
presidential
candidate,
Dr.
Bawumia.
