Students
of
KNUST
are
currently
mourning
the
loss
of
Miss
Josephine
Nana
Adwoa
Asmah,
a
recent
Computer
Engineering
graduate
and
former
Women’s
Commissioner
for
the
Geography
and
Environmental
Science
Association
(GESA),
who
tragically
passed
away
in
a
car
accident
on
December
16,
2024.
Reports
indicate
that
Josephine
was
travelling
in
a
car
when
the
driver,
reportedly
speeding,
lost
control
of
the
vehicle,
causing
it
to
somersault.
Tragically,
she
was
not
wearing
a
seatbelt
and
was
ejected
from
the
car
which
made
her
sustain
fatal
head
injuries.
According
to
her
colleagues,
Josephine
was
a
bring
and
ambitious
young
woman
whose
recent
graduation
marked
the
beginning
of
a
promising
future.
As
the
immediate
past
Women’s
Commissioner
for
GESA,
she
was
celebrated
for
her
dedication
to
advocating
for
women’s
empowerment
and
fostering
a
supportive
environment
for
students.
Her
contributions
to
the
KNUST
community
will
be
remembered
for
years
to
come.
In
a
poignant
twist
of
fate,
Josephine
had
recently
shared
a
heartfelt
post
mourning
the
loss
of
another
KNUST
student,
Afia
Dedaa,
who
also
passed
away
in
a
similar
car
accident.
Her
words
in
that
post
now
serve
as
a
sombre
reminder
of
the
fragility
of
life.
