The
New
Patriotic
Party
(NPP)
will
officially
outdoor
the
running
mate
to
the
flagbearer
Dr
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh
today
Tuesday,
July
9.
The
event
will
take
place
at
the
Jubilee
Park
in
Kumasi.
The
National
Council
of
the
NPP
unanimously
endorsed
Dr
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh
at
an
emergency
meeting
held
in
Accra
on
Thursday,
July
4.
President
Nana
Addo
Dankwa
Akufo-Addo
said
that
the
partnership
is
an
excellent
one
that
will
win
the
2024
general
elections
for
the
NPP.
Speaking
to
journalists
after
the
confirmation,
President
Akufo-Addo
said,
“National
Council
has
endorsed
the
nomination
of
Dr
Mathew
Opoku
Prempeh
to
be
the
running
mate
of
Dr
Mahamudu
Bawumia.
“The
NPP
has
an
excellent
ticket
and
we’re
going
to
win
with
this
ticket
on
7th
December
2024,
that’s
the
news.
The
feeling
is
good,
they
make
a
very
good
pair,
and
they
are
going
to
win.”
Dr
Mahamudu
Bawumia
for
his
part
thanked
the
National
Council
of
the
NPP
for
unanimously
endorsing
his
selection
of
Dr
Opoku
Prempeh
as
his
running
mate.
In
a
Facebook
post,
he
said
“Today,
I
had
the
honour
and
privilege
to
present
my
choice
of
running
mate
(Dr.
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh)
to
the
National
Council
of
the New
Patriotic
Party
(NPP:
Development
in
Freedom) for
their
consideration
in
line
with
NPP
constitution.
I
thank
members
of
the
National
Council
for
their
unanimous
and
emphatic
endorsement
of
the
astute
and
brilliant
Dr.
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh
as
my
running
mate.
To
God
be
the
glory.”
Dr
Matthew
Opoku
Prempeh
assured
members
and
supporters
of
the
NPP
that
he
will
help
Dr
Bawumia
to
prosecute
a
formidable
2024
campaign
to
break
the
8-year
election
cycle.
He
says
he
understands
that
the
task
ahead
requires
the
collective
effort.
He
further
called
upon
all
members
of
the
NPP
to
join
hands
to
collectively
strive
to
achieve
their
‘ambitious
goal
of
transforming
Ghana
into
a
prosperous
nation’.
“I
express
my
gratitude
to
the
National
Council,
the
rank-and-file
of
our
party
and
our
esteemed
President,
Nana
Addo
Dankwa
Akufo-Addo,
for
their
unwavering

faith
in

he
said
in
a
statement

the

endorsed
him
as
the
running
mate
