The
Ayawaso
West
Municipal
Assembly
has
condemned
the
attack
by
some
members
of
the
National
Democratic
Congress
(NDC)
at
the
constituency
office
of
the
New
Patriotic
Party
(NPP)
at
Dzorwulu.
In
a
statement
signed
by
the
Municipal
Chief
Executive,
Sandra
Owusu-Ahinkorah,
Monday,
July
08,
2024,
it
said
“this
act
of
violence
is
not
only
an
attack
on
the
NPP
but
also
an
affront
to
the
values
of
democracy,
peace,
and
unity
that
we
hold
dearly
in
our
Municipality.”
According
to
the
statement,
the
municipality
believes
in
the
“principles
of
mutual
respect,
dialogue,
and
peaceful
coexistence,
and
any
attempt
to
undermine
these
principles
will
be
met
with
the
full
force
of
the
law.”
The
municipal
assembly
has
prayed
the
security
institutions
to
fish
out
perpetrators
of
the
act
and
bring
them
to
book,
to
serve
as
a
deterrent
to
others.

IN
THE
AYAWASO
WEST
WUOGON
We
wish
to
condemn
in
the
strongest
terms
the
violent
attack
on
the
NPP
campaign
office
in
Dzorwulu
on
Sunday,
July
7,
2024,
by
some
NDC
sympathizers.
This
act
of
violence
is
not
only
an
attack
on
the
NPP
but
also
an
affront
to
the
values
of
democracy,
peace,
and
unity
that
we
hold
dearly
in
our
Municipality.
Violence
and
intimidation
have
no
place
in
our
society,
and
those
responsible
for
this
cowardly
attack
must
be
brought
to
justice.
Our
Municipality
thrives
on
the
principles
of
mutual
respect,
dialogue,
and
peaceful
coexistence,
and
any
attempt
to
undermine
these
principles
will
be
met
with
the
full
force
of
the
law.
The
Ayawaso
West
Municipal
Assembly
wishes
to
express
our
deepest
sympathies
to
the
affected
persons,
party
executives,
and
sympathizers
of
the
NPP
who
sustained
various
degrees
of
injuries
during
the
attack.
We
appreciate
the
fear
and
distress
this
incident
might
have
caused
you,
and
we
want
to
assure
you
of
our
commitment
to
ensuring
your
safety
and
well-being
in
the
exercise
of
your
lawful
political
activities.
We
are
working
closely
with
the
law
enforcement
agencies
to
investigate
this
matter
thoroughly
and
to
provide
the
necessary
security
measures
to
prevent
any
recurrence
of
such
incidents.
We
wish
to
urge
all
residents
of
our
Municipality
to
remain
calm,
eschew
all
acts
of
violence,
and
engage
in
constructive
dialogue
to
promote
a
culture
of
tolerance
and
respect.
Political
aggression
would
have
no
place
in
the
Ayawaso
West
Municipality
again,
and
we
remain
committed
to
working
closely
with
the
security
services
to
ensure
a
violence-free
Municipality.
